MARBLE AS MODERN ART

We’re fans of planning space design and styling around the fabrics or wallpapers, instead of leaving those for the end. As an extension of this thought, we say, why not do the same with a marble table?

BUT, WHY MARBLE TABLES?

Marble is loved for its durability. If you like spending quality time together or playing host for loved ones, you want a table that’s in it for the long haul with you, right?

Also, when you want a modern ‘luxury investment,’ it’s natural to expect something that’s  made of top quality material, and makes a statement that wouldn’t submit to fickle trends.

Marble tables- especially the high grade Italian marble ones – just have a way of ticking these boxes.

If you’re already out shopping for a table, it’s impossible to ignore the marble ones. Each seems more unique than the previous one – confusing, but oh-so-delightful.

They speak for themselves so beautifully that when you spot one you like, chances are, you’ll  make a decision to take it home with you soon enough.

MODERN ART MARBLE TABLES: SOME INSPIRATIONS

Don’t you like the idea of there being fluid rules and blurred boundaries when it comes to modern art? Here’s how you can have some fun with it – why not!

SURREALIST DRAMA

Some marble tables channel ‘moody glamour’ in a dramatic enough way, but balanced with quiet minimalism.

To enjoy the surrealist patterning of this predominantly white marble coffee table, keep the table styling accessories to a minimum. Surrounding accessories – nested tables, smaller coffee tables, or the rug underneath can be in clean block colours.

ABSTRACT MODERN GEOMETRY

The ‘country manor mood’ has its loyal following and this abstract trapezoid-like coffee table embodies it.

Though a fairly large piece, it not only softens the visual impact,  but makes for a flexible fit if you’re looking at a marble table for your living room. It also balances well with the angular sharpness of sofas or stand-alone chairs that are in a typically architectural or industrial-chic silhouette.

You may like to add a bunch of neutral colour  ceramics to give its beige-golden, crystalline sheen a more earthy touch. The entire combination is very airy, relaxed, and unpretentious.
